After the childrens items and bookcases are removed, the fireplace with wonderfull Craftsman tile work stands out as a focal point in the room. Colorful art from the dining room ties in with the red slipcovered upholstry..A functional conversation area is created by adding the coffee table.

The dining room feels awkard with the table pushed to one side of the room and a bookcase pushed into the corner.

Centering the table under the light fixture and adding a second bookcase from the living room creates a balanced and functional room. The area rug defines the eating area while adding warmth to the room.

Like the living room, the charming kitchen features are hidden under everyday countertop clutter, bookcases and the childrens table.

Once cleaned and cleared of clutter a futon is added from another room. The window has been cleaned,exterior plants trimmed and shade has been washed and pressed creating a cozy spare room.

Furniture placement was a challenge with multiple focal points including a fireplace, big screen TV and bulit-in bookcase.

The curved center section of the sectional was retreived from the guest room. Set up in an L shape and pulled away from the walls the new seating area works with all of the focal points.

The furniture placement blocked the swing of the french doors, not allowing them to be closed.

Re-arrainging the furniture allows full function of the doors and makes the room feel more spacious. Adding art to the back wall creates a focal point.
